Its special layered structure gives it strong ion conduction ability and theoretically high charge capacity. It is a promising electrode material with "quick charge".Researchers in China and the United States recently created a new type of black phosphorus composite material by making electrodes out of a black phosphorus composite material and using a thin polymer gel as a dust-proof coat.Laboratory measurements show that the electrode can recover about 80% of its charge after 9 minutes of charging, and retain 90% of its charge capacity after 2000 cycles.The designed lithium-ion batteries may have the advantages of fast charging, high charge capacity and long life.The study is in the journal Science
